We know football as a kicking a ball to score a goal and the word football normally means the form of football that is the most popular where the word is used. But if we talk about American football, there are two teams which compete to get an oval-shaped ball into the end zone bypassing and running the ball with their hand. As we know American football is the most popular sport to watch in the United States. In the United State and Canada “football” means something distinctive and the American Football is referred to as football and also known as a gridiron. American Football originated from the sports of soccer and rugby. This is the most popular game in the United State. 1. History:

1. The first American Football match was played in November 6, 1869, the game was played in between two college teams, Rutgers and Princeton, with the help of rules based on the rules of soccer at the time.

The National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC) are the names of two conferences and the 32 NFL teams are divided into two conferences. They are divided into four divisions: North, South, West and East. Each division includes four teams. The season lasts 17 weeks. Each team plays 16 games and has one week off.  They called rest week a “bye week”.
